This year, renowned vascular surgeon Concetta Chiarini celebrates twenty years as a member of the Brazilian Medical Associaion. Concetta Chiarini joined the Brazilian Medical Association in 1993 shortly after she began her career as a vascular surgeon. Being a member of the Brazilian Medical Association is an important career milestone for Concetta Chiarini because it marks the point at which she was no longer a resident or a fellow, but truly a surgeon in her own right. For the past twenty years, the Brazilian Medical Association has stood behind Concetta Chiarini and certified her fitness and aptitude for medical practice.

Concetta Chiarini is proud to be a member of the Brazilian Medical Association, noting, “The Brazilian Medical Association is respected around the world as being the certifying body for doctors in Brazil. It provides another degree of respect for our first class medical institutions.” For Concetta Chiarini, the Brazilian Medical Association, which was founded in 1953, stands beside the globally recognized American Medical Association in stature and becomes more prominent each year as more world-class physicians join its ranks.

To mark twenty years as a member of the Brazilian Medical Association, Concetta Chiarini will be having a small celebration with her staff and some of her long-term patients. “There are people I performed surgery on when I was just starting out, who I have been doing follow-up work with for most of these two decades since I became an independently practicing surgeon,” explains Concetta Chiarini. “Those people are as much a part of my medical practice as any of my staff and it’s a joy to celebrate with people who have undeniably benefited from my work.”

The Brazilian Medical Association is also marking Concetta Chiarini’s twentieth anniversary of membership. Concetta Chiarini is one of the organization’s most respected surgeons, constantly ranking highly on lists of the best doctors in the country. In recognition of her membership, the Brazilian Medical Association has presented Concetta Chiarini with a plaque. “It feels good to have my work recognized by such an important medical body,” says Concetta Chiarini. “I’ve worked hard to make a name for myself, and it’s clear those efforts weren’t in vain.”
