Doreen Duggan has been asked by the members of the Mantoloking Yacht Club to be the Chairperson for the 2001 Dinner Dance.

The Dinner Dance is an event held by the Mantoloking Yacht Club. Each year, the members of the club nominate someone to plan the event and help it go off smoothly. In recent years, the Dinner Dance has been a resounding success, often bringing in three hundred members and guests for a night of fun and dancing. Doreen Duggan is thrilled with the opportunity to organize the much beloved event. “I have been a fan of the Dinner Dance for years,” said Doreen Duggan, “and the opportunity to put it on myself and help give the event a new style is something I am very much looking forward to.” Doreen Duggan's experience in interior design should serve her well as the planning phase gets underway.

Doreen Duggan is confident that she will be able to handle the myriad of responsibilities associated with the event. “I know that the Dinner Dance is a major event, and there is a lot of pressure to make sure it goes well. The band, dinner, and dancing are the easy parts. My biggest area of focus will be setting the mood and getting the atmosphere right for the evening.” Doreen Duggan's focus on the atmosphere of the party should put the evening in good standing as far as the feel of the event goes.

The theme for the event is “Be There With Bells On,” and the phrase is open to interpretation on the part of the attendees. Doreen Duggan believes that this openness will help spark some creativity within the members of the Yacht Club, and hopes that the attendees will enjoy the challenge of coming up with appropriate attire.
