Chris Tinney is the Co-Founder of Spread Peace USA, which is a non-profit organization that is fighting poverty and homelessness in the United States. Spread Peace USA was founded in 2008, and Chris Tinney is using his organization, along with his radio talk show, "Up Close with Chris Tinney," to increase activism in communities to combat homelessness.

Speaking on the topic of homelessness, Chris Tinney expressed his dismay about the homelessness situation we are witnessing in the United States.
"40,000 people die on the streets of America this year. This doesn't have to be the case. There is enough food; there is enough shelter. What's lack are people willing to stand up and do something to end homelessness in America."

Spread Peace USA has made a small dent in the fight against poverty and homelessness, but more work needs to be done. So far though, Chris Tinney is pleased with Spread Peace USA’s ability to make a difference and looks forward to the future objectives that his organization is going to complete.

“As of today Spread Peace USA has helped deliver more than 168,000 meals, hundreds of tents and thousands of pairs of socks to our homeless friends and the underprivileged. Today Spread Peace USA supports volunteers and other non-profits across America.”

In 2008, Chris Tinney married his wife, Tysha. The subsequently spent the following five years traveling throughout the United States trying to bring awareness to communities about the problems and challenges faced by the homeless and the challenges that poverty pose to us as a nation. Additionally, Chris and Tysha made friends who are homeless, learned about their stories, and tried to understand how they came to be in the situation that they are in. Based on what he learned from his five years of traveling through the country, he firmly believes that we can end poverty and homelessness in our lifetime.

Chris Tinney is currently working on his second book about homelessness in the United States. He plans to break up his books on the topics into three parts. The first will cover the stories of homeless people he met on his travels, the second part will cover how you can help the homeless in your community, and the third will be a guide for the homeless to help them get food and shelter.
