Captain Steve Sabo has dedicated his entire career to ensuring that his community is a safe place to live. Having served justice for over twenty years as a police officer, police captain, and eventually as a criminal investigator in Bergen County, New Jersey, he has risked his life numerous times to ensure that citizens feel secure in their environment. Throughout his career, he has received six medals specifically awarded to those who have put their lives at risk in the field to save a life.

Captain Steve Sabo’s career began in 1984 when he was hired by the Englewood Police Department. Having graduated second in his class academically from the Bergen County Police Department, he had already built a framework of success for himself that he was determined to carry out during his time as a police officer. Within his first five years on the force, he received three letters of commendation, two unit citations, an Honorable Mention Award, and a Life Saving Medal.

He served as a patrol officer for thirteen years before a promotion to patrol supervisor, where he stayed for five years. He was then promoted to the position of Detective Lieutenant, Officer in Charge, of the Criminal Investigations Bureau in Bergen County. There, he worked and collaborated on joint investigations with agencies such as US Customs, the DEA, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, the FBI, and more.

Captain Steve Sabo has also received a plethora of awards and medals for honorable service in the field, exceptional duty, EMS excellence, and most recently, a Policeman’s Benevolence Association (PBA) Medal. He has been a member of the New Jersey PBA Local Chapters 216 and 600 for 31 years and 6 years, respectively. He is also a member of the New Jersey Honor Legion.

Currently living in Paramus, New Jersey, Captain Steve Sabo provides services in executive protection, executive driving, and private security. Though he is retired from the force, he is still dedicated to ensuring the safety and happiness of the citizens of his community. He enjoys golfing, fishing in New Jersey’s spectacular rivers, trying out new cuisines at local restaurants and staying up to date with local politics.
