Byron A Brown MD has always placed quality education at the forefront of his thinking ever since he was a child. Growing up on his family’s cattle farm in South Carolina, Brown would work hard at school before returning to work on the farm alongside his father and grandfather. Despite these challenges, he was still able to take a number of university-level courses while he was in high school, setting himself up perfectly for an academic career that would involve completing his undergraduate studies at Winthrop University before receiving his Medical Doctorate from the University of South Carolina’s School of Medicine.

Brown never stopped learning though. He understands that by taking into account all of the experiences that his peers shared with him, plus learning through taking continuing education courses, he could continue to develop both his knowledge of the medical profession and the skills that he would need to be able to successfully work alongside patients to help them with their ailments. He notes that the time he spent working alongside his more experienced peers proved to be instrumental to the successes that he has enjoyed during his career, which include opening his own private practice that provided treatment related to obstetrics and gynecology until 2011.

Having now become one of the experienced professionals that he looked up to during the early stages of his career, Brown has made the decision to work as a staff practitioner at a teaching hospital so that he can pass on the benefit of his knowledge and experience to a new generation of doctors. Byron A Brown MD hopes that he can use what he has learned during the course of his career to help others understand the many complex issues related to the medical profession, many of which extend far beyond the development of technical knowledge.

Today, Byron A Brown MD acts as the mentor to a number of young doctors at the hospital where he works and he hopes to be able to guide them along the right path so that they will enjoy success in their chosen field.
