Evie Greenstone is an attorney in Florida and a member of the Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division. For three years she served as an Assistant State Attorney, prosecuting crimes under Michael J. Satz. As a student, Evie Greenstone dedicated and applied herself to her studies, becoming inducted into the National Dean’s List, Pi Gamma Mu, and the International Honor Society for the Social Sciences.
Evie Greenstone saw the need to help others and try to make a positive change as early as possible. She became a volunteer and member of Kids in Distress in Broward County, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping children who have been abused and neglected and aiming to prevent child abuse. KID’s programs include the KID preschool, after school care, summer camp, foster care, and adoption support, to name a few.
Far too often, young children who are abused or neglected fight to see themselves as more than where they came from. Volunteers like attorney Evie Greenstone work to help the children overcome their dark pasts and look to a brighter future. Part of Kids in Distress’ services include adoptive and shelter services to remove children from abusive homes as well as counseling and therapy services.
Evie Greenstone encourages more people to become involved in a nonprofit organization within their community. The largest part is educating people. At Kids in Distress, educational services are provides such as Child Development Training, CPR, First Aid, Water Safety, Parent Training, Marital Counseling, and Parent Support Groups, among others.
