AUBURN, WA – Holy Family School in Auburn Washington celebrates their 60th Anniversary offering a faith-based education in King County and is holding an open house for interested parents during Catholic School Week. The 2-day open house will be held on January 26th, 9:30am-10:30am and 12-1pm and January 28th from 8:45am to 10:30am. Tours can be scheduled at hfsauburn.com or by contacting the school office at #253-833-8688.

Established in 1964, Holy Family School opened its doors with an enrollment of 150 first through fourth grade students. The school was entirely operated by the Sisters of the Holy Names, with the exception of the lay second grade teacher, Cathy Carney. Sister Betty McLellan (Sister M. John Daniel) was the founding principal at the new school in Auburn.

“Holy Family School provides a rigorous academic approach, while also being attentive to each student’s needs,” said Fr. Jerry Burns, Pastor for Holy Family and St. Andrew Church. “The core curriculum includes religion, reading, language arts, math, lab-based science, social studies, music/drama, and physical education in a positive learning environment.”

The school today serves approximately 165 pre-kindergarten through eighth grade students and the staff, as well as the parents, are committed to the pursuit of academic excellence, citizenship and faith. Holy Family School is currently enrolling pre-kindergarten through eighth grade students for those parents seeking a well-rounded, faith-based education for their children.

“Holy Family School is unique because the students gather from all different grade levels to support each other and work together,” Fr. Jerry went on to say. “From reading and science buddy tutoring, to community service projects, our students truly live out what it means to serve their neighbor and give of their time and talents.”
