To help pubs and bars supporting VAT: Tax Parity Day, all pub operators across the UK can list their venues FREE on the Network's new “Pubs Supporting VAT: Tax Parity Day” page allowing potential customers to find those pubs supporting the cause and offering cheaper food and drink for the day.

In addition, both as a bonus and an introduction, the Network is giving non-subscribers who support VAT: Tax parity Day, 60 Days FREE access and full promotion across all of its new range of services – Network 2.0.

Tax Parity Day is a campaign being organised by members of the VAT Club Jaques Borel, a cross-section of 40 high profile companies from the pub, restaurant, hotel and food service segments who are keen to promote the employment benefits of a lower VAT rate for the sector.

The VAT Club Jaques Borel want to highlight the discrepancy and unfairness levied on pubs and restaurants that are forced to pay 20% VAT on food whilst Supermarkets pay 0%.
This is an imbalance that allows Supermarkets to sell food disproportionally lower than pubs and also gives them an unfair advantage of using those savings to subsidise cheap booze. The knock on effect is hurting the hospitality industry and increases unemployment in the sector.

Perry Mayer, Managing Director of the Pub and Bar Network said: “It’s a great cause and a triple win for pubs, customers and government.
Many of our existing subscribing pub operators are supporting it.

The campaign – thanks to publications like the Publican Morning Advertiser, the Paul Charity, Propel Newsletter among others - seems to have gathered a very positive and - for once - collaborative momentum. We just need to find a way of getting people into those pubs that are supporting it. That’s where we can hopefully do our bit."

Mayer is also offering other website owners and even his competitors links on all Network search pages, including the home page if they agree to return just a single link from their home page to the Pubs Supporting VAT: Tax Parity Day page until Thursday.

Supporters of VAT: Tax Parity Day includes household names such as Fullers, Young’s, Wetherspoons, Punch Taverns, Shepherd Neame and many more with over 15,000 venues expected to take part.

To claim your free listing on the VAT: Tax Parity Day page or add a link to your website, call Perry direct on 07951 776 435 or simply go to the Pub and Bar Network website.

The Pub and Bar Network, previously Citypublife, has been helping pubs and bars promote their ever changing information for almost 13 years.

Were the first to actively promote function room hire back in 2001 delivering £millions of booking requests to its subscribing venues each year.

In 2003 the Network began delivering dynamic online sports information for pubs showig the successful England Rugby World Cup campaign.

Subscribers include: Fuller's, Young's, Greene King, Novus Leisure and many more managed and tied pubs and bars.

In 2013 the Network developed it's own automated Digital Marketing Manager via Network 2.0 which distances itself slightly from it reliance on Internet Search Engines and encourages pubs and bars to go social and develop their own databases within the Networks CRM delivering on-time information to their own subscribers.

Perry Mayer, Managing Director maintains that the Network is a fraction of the cost and more effective than conventional websites and are now developing an Enterprise solution for larger PubCos.
