From real Rolex watches to an occasional masterpiece of fine art, the staff at All That Glitters Jewelry & Loans pawnshop has seen pretty much everything.

“I’d have to think for a long time to come up with something we’ve never seen,” said a long time employee. “We’ve seen some odd stuff. But it doesn’t matter what comes in the door - or who brings it. We’re going to treat everyone with respect and give them an honest appraisal on what they bring.

The shop takes just about anything of value for sale or pawn. Collectibles and fine jewelry loans are the mainstays. The store also does jewelry layaways for customers who wish to pay with installments.

“We can take things on consignment as well as pawn,” said one employee. “A number of people have used our service for estate jewelry evaluations and sales. We’re glad to be of help.”

The Portland pawn shop also does direct trades.

“Got something you don’t want or just need to get rid and you see something in the store you’d like? Let’s talk. Your option, cash, trade or maybe cash and trade. We’re going to do our best to meet you halfway or closer.”

All That Glitters also offers the traditional pawn service. Leave an item and fill out a short form. The store will keep the merchandise short term, loaning money on the value of it. The father and son team said their fees are always reasonable.
