Meredith Alvaro announces new workshops in education.

Trenton, New Jersey - Many attend Meredith Alvaro's workshops already. Meredith Alvaro’s skill in teaching important educational skills to teachers has been noted by superintendents and principals of various programs that she has worked for. Said one principal from a New Jersey school district, “Meredith’s enthusiasm about reading and writing is contagious. She is a great teacher, and her delivery of the information is real; she makes applying the strategies so easy and practical for our teachers. It is so exciting being in a room with Meredith!” Meredith Alvaro has not let praise like this go to her head, instead continually reflecting on her teaching skills and passing on her knowledge to other teachers in an effort to raise the collective quality of teaching in the state.

Meredith Alvaro’s first new workshop, NJASK 2013: Using Targeted Classroom Instructional Strategies to meet the "Transitional" changes on the NJASK, deals with the NJASK specialized test and changes made to it recently. Meredith Alvaro’s new curriculum for this course will help teachers learn how to train their students for the test while not sacrificing the students’ quality of learning for non-test applications. Meredith Alvaro has figured out how to target classroom instructional strategies to build a better curriculum for students that will enhance their NJASK capabilities over time in a more natural setting.

Meredith Alvaro’s other newly announced workshop is Common Core Standards and PARCC: What Schools Can (and Should) Begin Now. “With the new Common Core Standards being put in place, it is important to know what they are and how to familiarize yourself with skills and strategies to help students meet and exceed them,” says Meredith Alvaro. Knowing how to teach to these new standards will help build a better curriculum, such as the literacy enhancing curriculums that Meredith Alvaro is best known for. In fact, Meredith Alvaro is revered for her work building higher level literacy curriculums for schools in New Jersey and New York, revising their pre-existing curriculums into newer and more powerful toolkits for literacy success.

Meredith Alvaro’s workshops on teaching will help educators enhance new curriculums to best support achievement for all students. Meredith Alvaro’s experience and certification in general education, special education, and English as a second language means that the curriculum offered by Meredith Alvaro can be modified to any student’s needs.
