With warm weather arriving and boating season gearing up, Joshua Kerrigan encourages yacht owners to remember that safety is a key part of boat ownership and enjoyment.

Miami, FL - Joshua Kerrigan is pleased to announce his ongoing commitment to yachting safety. As part of his dedication to ensuring that both employees and clients enjoy the experience of yachting without the negative overhang of injuries or accidents, Joshua Kerrigan would like to take this opportunity to remind boat owners that safety should always come first.

“As a registered EMT, I’m trained to think about safety and responsiveness,” said Joshua Kerrigan, founder and owner of Florida-based company Yacht Management Inc. “As a yacht owner and business owner, I think about that a lot in the context of yachting. And while yachting for business or pleasure is, in general, a fairly safe activity, doing so negligently can easily result in dangerous situations that can ruin a pleasant afternoon of cruising.”

When talking to both new and loyal clients, Joshua Kerrigan likes to run through a quick discussion of important safety concerns. “Whenever you’re dealing with water, it’s important to take that additional risk into account,” remarked Joshua Kerrigan. “I always recommend that yacht owners be comfortable swimming in deep water, and that if they have kids, that they ensure that they’re strong swimmers, as well. And of course, life jackets and life preservers are always must haves on any vessel.”

Joshua Kerrigan deals extensively with maintenance, as well. Especially when yacht owners take their crafts out on the water for the first time after a winter in storage, Joshua Kerrigan highly advises doing a thorough safety check before leaving the marina. “It’s absolutely crucial to check all of the safety systems before even thinking about lifting anchor,” commented Joshua Kerrigan. “Plus, checking for damage to the hull, gas and electrical systems, and navigation systems is an important part of minimizing the chance of an accident.”

For Joshua Kerrigan, safety is the number one priority. Joshua Kerrigan invites any yacht owner looking to have a complete pre-season safety check carried out on their yacht to contact Yacht Management Inc for a consultation. Joshua Kerrigan is happy to discuss how to most safely own and operate a yacht with any interested owners or prospective owners.
