LaPorte, Indiana - Christopher Smith of South Central has recently left his position as Superintendent of Schools for South Central Community Schools in Union Mills, Indiana. This marks a milestone in the career of Christopher Smith of South Central, as he has spent 28 years as an educational leader. Since earning his first degree, a Bachelor’s in Education, Christopher Smith of South Central has held many different roles in a variety of schools in Indiana. This includes teaching, coaching, administration, and supervision.

When asked about his 28 years as an educational leader, Christopher Smith of South Central stated, “I have truly enjoyed dedicated the majority of my life to educating students and helping them achieve. During this time, Christopher Smith of South Central also coached many sports, including track, football, cross-country, basketball, wrestling, and tennis.

In 1999, Christopher Smith of South Central made the transition from teaching to administration. Christopher Smith of South Central served as the Assistant Principal for Lakeland Middle School from 1999-2001 and the Principal from 2001-2006. During this time, Christopher Smith of South Central illustrated his leadership skills through the development of new curriculum, assessments, and enhanced student programs.

After his time at Lakeland Middle School, Christopher Smith of South Central then became Superintendent of Schools for South Central Community Schools in 2006. As superintendent, Christopher Smith of South Central was responsible for all operations of the school district, from staff learning to student achievement.
