BOK Center Management Misleads Event Sponsors of 2013 Paul McCartney Concert By Offering Tickets To Non Existent Seats.

In a mad scramble to save the Tulsa Paul McCartney concert, the BOK Center box office manager Sharon Dunaway made the decision to offer free seats to the employees of the concerts sponsors. Upon arrival the tickets holders were told they would immediately be escorted by BOK Center staff to empty seats that were waiting for them, but seats were unavailable.

Tulsa, OK - Paul McCartney was all set to due his unprecedented second show at Tulsa Oklahoma's BOK Center on May 30th after his first show the day before sold out in under fifteen minutes.

The manager of the BOK Center who was in charge of the May 2013 Paul McCartney tour had a problem on their hands. While the first show was an instant sellout, the second concert had several hundred unsold seats for the 8 pm event.

McCartney who was not at all pleased by the ticket sales told BOK Center management that they needed to "do something" as "I am not playing to empty seats" retorted Sir Paul.

In a mad scramble to save the Tulsa Paul McCartney concert, the BOK Center box office manager Sharon Dunaway made the decision to offer the promise of free seats to the employees of the concerts sponsors in the form of "Standing Room Only" tickets. Upon arrival the tickets holders were told they would immediately be escorted by BOK Center staff to empty seats that were waiting for them, but seats were unavailable.

Unknown to those ticket holders, or the concert sponsors, the decision was also made by BOK Center box office to not only keep selling tickets after the concert began, but to slash the prices on them from as high as two hundred and fifty dollars a ticket, to nine dollars and ninety nine cents per ticket. Many of the "SRO" Sponsor ticket holders were forced to endure the embarrassment of being ejected from the seats during the concert by BOK staff to seat last minute ticket buyers. Most of those ejected then left the building after the humiliating experience.

Hundreds of the ticket holders did not get as far as an actual seat as there were none to be had. The box office handed out hundreds more tickets than seats were available in hopes of there being no empties if some ticket holders did not show.

To make matters even worse small standing squares were marked on the tiles in the corridors around the sides of the arena for those who got there early enough, and those ticket holders were constantly yelled at by some female BOK staff to keep their backs against the wall. One even going so far as to push them back as she walked through the lines.

While under fifty ticket holders of the hundreds of tickets produced actually got seats, the vast majority of the sponsors employees and guests of, Cox, Bank of Oklahoma, Pepsi, American Airlines were all disappointed and appalled at such poor treatment by the BOK Center.

The BOK Center management should be ashamed about what they did, and the public should be aware that this could happen again.
