Chicago, Illinois --- Multi-award-winning film director Kely McClung explores our on-line obsession with fame and instant celebrity in the kinetic horror-thriller "Loop."

"Loop" is a short film project being produced in Chicago, Illinois by Media Arts International Film Corporation, and being financed in partnership with Executive Producer Robert L. Street of Equity Film Finance, LLC in Miami.

The "Loop" team includes Emmy nominated Director of Photography Brian Schilling, Chicago actor-producer Carmine Perrelli, Swiss Make-up Artist and model Nadia Berchtold, German Composer Wolfgang Eckert, and will be shot in and around Chicago in October, 2015.

"I'm excited to be working with such an extraordinary set of international talent," said "Loop" director Kely McClung. "The idea that they are global fits the basic tenant of the story: that the Internet really has no bounds in geography or content."

"Loop" continues casting, but has signed Austrian born and trained actor Ursula Maria for the lead role of 'Lina'.

"The physical and emotional demands of "Loop" are intense, with a unique set of requirements," Mr. McClung said. "I've known of Ursula for some time, and we're really excited to work with her and for what she brings to the screen."

"Ursula's beauty is unquestionable, but it's her unique physicality and emotional availability that make her such a perfect fit for "Loop," said producer Carmine Perrelli.

Ursula Maria studied Theater, Film, and Media Studies at the University of Vienna, Austria. She trained further at the famed Stella Adler Theater in Los Angeles. She continues to train and teach dance - concentrating on Hip Hop, Jazz, and Contemporary. She currently works out of Hollywood, California.

"The common thread of Kely's work is intensity. I know how hard he pushes himself and his actors and "Loop" feels really current," said Ms. Maria. "I'm excited and scared and hopeful - everything an actor hopes for in a project."

Kely McClung has directed three feature films: the multi-award-winning "Blood Ties," "Finn," and "Altered." His only short film, "A.M. Session," was part of the prestigious American Black Film Festival and was sold to HBO.

"Short films are almost a completely different art form than features films or television. My own approach is to start with what I want to say, "the statement," and then craft my story around that," said Mr. McClung.

Kely McClung, Nadia Berchtold, and Ursula Maria will be attending this year's 2015 Action On Film International Film Festival and Writer's Celebration (AOF) where "Loop" is entered into the screenplay competition. Mr. McClung's screenplay "Altered" previously won "Best Feature Screenplay."

"Altered" makes its World Premiere with 9 Award Nominations including "Best Picture" and "Best Director" at AOF on September 19th in Monrovia, California, and then screens on the East Coast September 26th at the Golden Door International Film Festival in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Kely McClung's current work can be seen in the trailer for the mind-bending thriller, "Altered."
