Atlanta Rainfall Up 125% and Costing Property Owners Money

Atlanta, GA – Local commercial plumbing contractor, ACAPX, LLC has been inundated with storm water repairs this year.

According to NOAA.gov the Metro Atlanta, GA area is at 125% above normal. The additional rainfall has caused a lot of damage to these aging storm sewer systems. Many of these systems were built in the 1950’s, 1960’s and 1970’s. Some are on private land and this is where the majority of the problems have occurred. The majority of issues have been retention pond dams failing drainpipes failure; sink holes, collection boxes being full of silt/debris and entire drain systems filling with silt. This could have been prevented with regular maintenance.

The worst incident this year is the erosion of a system that has caused an apartment building to be on the verge of falling of a cliff. The majority of these problems are from lack of proper maintenance. Storm water systems need yearly inspections to search for silt build up and minor issues. An inspection can address these early enough to possibly save thousands in future repairs and/or insurance claims.

Currently, ACAPX, LLC has estimated over five hundred thousand in repairs. To help keep these old systems from failing further, ACAPX, LLC has hired extra staff and are offering free inspections to anyone that might suspect they have a problem.
