RMR Wealth Management Co-Founder, Brian Mayer, was recognized by The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF) as a Featured Supporter for his organization of The 9th Annual Marc Mayer Golf Tournament which was held, August 27, 2012 at the Springdale Golf Club in Princeton, New Jersey. Featured Supporters are those who are actively making a difference in unique and exciting ways for the MMRF.

The funds were raised for the MMRF in honor of Mr. Mayer’s late father Marc, who lost his battle with Multiple Myeloma in 1996. “I credit my father with instilling in me his lifelong love of sports, coaching, community volunteering and philanthropy,” said Mr. Mayer. “My family and I are committed to raising awareness of Multiple Myeloma, a blood cancer that is estimated to take 11,000 lives this year. Thanks to the generous support, we are helping MMRF work towards a cure.”

Philip Rabinovich, Mr. Mayer’s Co-founding partner at RMR Wealth Management, along with Andrew Guzzetti, Managing Director and Founder of DLG Wealth Management, were also sponsors and supporters of the golf tournament. “We were delighted to once again be the title sponsor of the annual Marc Mayer Memorial Golf Tournament,” said Mr. Rabinovich. “We were privileged to be able to bring together our colleagues from the wealth management and financial services industry as well as many of our valued clients, in support of this great cause,” added Mr. Rabinovich. “As a featured supporter of the MMRF, the annual tournament brings businesses together to sponsor and raise money needed to aid in further development of next generation multiple myeloma treatments,” said Mr. Guzzetti.  “DLG Wealth Management is proud to have had the opportunity to participate in such an exceptional event and promote awareness.”

The MMRF was founded in 1998. At the time, there was very little research on the disease. The treatment options were limited and no meaningful new discoveries had been made for several decades. As a result, patients had a life expectancy of only 3 years. The MMRF stepped up to engage audiences and work with researchers, clinicians, and the pharmaceutical industry to help bring awareness about Multiple Myeloma. It has maintained that momentum to actively pursue the development of new treatments and help extend the lives of patients, with the ultimate goal of finding a cure.
