The Infinity School in Greater Noida West celebrated the commencement of the Diwali festivities with Dance Mania—a mesmerizing amalgamation of music, dance & drama, in an attempt to recreate the major events of the great Indian epic—Valmiki’s Ramayana.
Students from across grades Pre-Nursery to Grade V put up a dance. All parents were invited to attend the spectacular display of skills portrayed by little performers on stage. Beautiful artworks of children were displayed on the notice boards throughout the school, and the campus was decorated with paper lamps, elegant Rangoli (floor art) & other embellishments to complement festive spirits.
Both drama and dance have become an integral part of the school curriculum followed in most K12 schools in Noida & Delhi today.
Art, music, dance & drama encourage imagination in students, allowing them to think and express their ideas & emotions independently. Enacting a dance drama is a good example of healthy creative expression. Students learn critical life skills, like creativity, critical thinking & collaboration. They develop self-confidence, conscious thinking, social awareness & emotional intelligence as they breathe life into multiple roles on stage.
The Infinity School students chose 'performing arts' as a medium to celebrate Dussehra and Diwali this year. The twinkle toes from grade nursery & kindergarten performed a beautiful Diya dance. The remaining students enacted major scenes from Ramayana. The audience saw a few glimpses of Lord Rama’s early-life (Bal Kand) and the wedding of Ram & Sita (Ayodhya Kand), as the drama unfolded on stage. The program ended with a beautiful bhajan performed by the students & teachers, smiles, and a big round of applause by the audience, majorly parents who were thrilled to see their little ones skillfully conducting the show. All in all, it was a great effort put up by the students, and a wonderful experience for everyone.
