The American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance's free online directory was ranked the #1 resource used by seniors to find local Medicare insurance brokers during Medicare's Annual Enrollment Period.
"Medicare is a national program. But Medicare plan options are based specifically on where you live,” explains Jesse Slome, head of the national Medicare advocacy organization. "During Medicare’s Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) millions of seniors have the incredible opportunity to switch plans for the coming year.”
The annual enrollment period began on October 15. “The final date to make any changes is December 7 and regrettably millions fail to act,” Slome stresses.
A recently published report from AAMSI found that seniors in Los Angeles and Houston had 74 different Medicare Advantage plans to compare and choose from. "You have to be a rocket scientist to compare so many options especially when the differences are often buried within the contractual language," Slome shares. "The federal government's website is a great place to start,” he advises. “But, I strongly recommend seniors seek out someone locally who has experience."
The American Association for Medicare Supplement Insurance (AAMSI) makes available the nation's leading free online directory that lists Medicare Insurance agents by Zip Code. “I’m so pleased that we were ranked the #1 resource in 2023 used by seniors to find local Medicare brokers near to them,” Slome reports. “The value the fact that the Association doesn’t favor or sell any particular solution.”
