The journey and evolution of Pretty Crown started with an inspiration – an inspiration to give expression and empowerment to women, to help them realize that true beauty starts from realizing what is within yourself and nurturing it.

Like hundreds of Black women who struggle to embrace their natural hair – kinks and curls that are bestowed upon them by God, I was no exception. But one day I was staring in the mirror , and I realized that what I considered as a drawback was actually where my true power lied!

All this dates back to the time when I had no idea or a vision to create a brand of my own, when I was just another young woman enjoying the nuances of life and a prey to self-consciousness about her looks. Little did I know that I actually had admirers around me. Their adulation of my features, especially my crowning glory, laid the seeds of my inspiration – to create a brand that would open up a whole new world of possibilities for young Black women.

Soon after that, I set upon a journey with undaunted faith and conviction knowing fully well that I was stepping into a lesser-known territory, but I had immense confidence that this would work and that it would enable me to unleash true essences of beauty within who I now call ‘my ladies of luxury’.

What am I offering?

Once I embarked on my project, I started sifting through various options of how to actually define my ideas into something substantial. I weaved out a range of curated headband units and accessories that are best suited to be worn on kinky-curly hair. The reason for that is simple – I wished to genuinely put all that out and available for women that I had discovered and experienced for myself. Every style that is available in my collection are made of 100% real hair, are safe to be worn on your hair and most of all, have been tried out by me on my hair!

From short headband wigs that add a touch of glamour to their style or a makeover to cute drawstring ponytails that can be worn for any casual day outing like workplace or gym, you can find it all here!
