Maestro "Bullumba" has numerous world-wide successes in the rhythms of the bolero, merengue, guaracha, and classical music. His compositions have been performed by musicians of international recognition as Toña La Negra, Fernando Fernández, Celia Cruz, Alberto Beltrán, Vicentico Valdés, Rafael Solano, among others.

His legacy is imbedded in the musical history of the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and Mexico, this last country mentioned is where his songs were interpreted in films of the golden age of Mexican cinema. Among the attractions of the show we will feature a participation of a Latin singer performing a classic bolero composed by Bullumba to jazz bossa nova standards.

Rafelito Mirabal & Sistema will play his latest musical creations for the first time in Miami. The event is a unique show because the nephew of Bullumba and producer of the event, Peter Landestoy, will bring Bullumba’s classical piano & guitar compositions to modern jazz standards, thanks to the musical arrangements of Mirabal. This will be a magical night where we will also enjoy a choreography produced by Massiel Olmos, Cultural & Artistic Representative of the OPT office in Miami performed by contemporary dancer Laura Rosguer. T
he South Florida Dominican Jazz Fest has positioned itself as the only event of Dominican culture that during Hispanic Heritage Month opens its doors to other cultures to display the musical talent from the Caribbean nation and raise it along with other leading International Jazz artists from around the world. Peter Landestoy has produced the event since its inception; the Dominican businessman is a lover of good music, coming from a family of musicians for several generations.

"We are trying to unify different Dominican artists with the international counterpart during the festivities of the Hispanic Heritage Month and embrace them all under the tricolor Dominican Flag", says the producer Landestoy. This year the festival has partnered with the participation as an associate producer with Mandy Llanes, a Cuban impresario with 36 years of experience in the sector of Marketing, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hialeah Chamber of Commerce.

"I am proud to be part of a historic event where we bring the classical music of Dominican glory Bullumba, artist that left its mark in so many countries, such as Mexico, and help bring his style of classical music for todays contemporary jazz, thus recalling the reality of our Hispanic roots," explains Mandy Llanes. This event is made possible thanks to the support of their sponsors, the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic, Presidente Beer and Ron Barcelo. Three major representatives of Dominican culture.

From the conception the festival, the Ministry of Tourism of the Dominican Republic (MITUR), has maintained its sustained support to this initiative, given that in the past 8 years, this country has positioned itself as the number one destination in the Caribbean, given their attractive and varied complementary offers such as rivers, mountains, golf, adventure, music, and happy hearted people.
