COSMODREAMS Project Launches the Space Art Odyssey Art Video

Posted February 12, 2021 by Press-service

On September 8, 2020, the Space Art Odyssey video journey conceived by the Artist Ms. Marina Fedorova will begin at Erarta Museum.

The Space Art Odyssey is a virtual voyage through outer space. It will be projected on a half-dome screen installed in the exhibition area. This art video is a standalone artwork within the COSMODREAMS Project.

The film tells a captivating story of a space traveller exploring an uncharted part of the Universe and suddenly chancing upon the remains of a human civilization which once reclaimed the Moon as a kind of art space. Mankind might have migrated to a different galaxy or disappeared altogether, but right here and right now the protagonist gets a glimpse of its values and worldview through its surviving art. To learn what he has encountered, seen and understood, the viewer only needs to watch the full video.

‘The visitors who explore the dreamlike world of the Space Art Odyssey and travel through the rooms of the virtual museum will surely recognize the artworks they have just seen in the real exhibition space. This is the point of convergence of the two realms: the yet unknown future meets the present,’ this is how the Artist, Ms. Marina Fedorova, explains the concept behind the film.

The Space Art Odyssey took a whole year to create. The project team used computer imaging to render the exceptionally realistic ground surface in minutest detail. Next came the museum’s interior furnishings which clearly demonstrate the influence of Antoni Gaudí’s and Hans Giger’s aesthetics at the stage of post-production, the building took on the forms of the aseptic architecture of the 2000s gleaming with porcelain-like whiteness. Each room has its own theme, reinforced by distinctive special effects and memorable details. The ultra-high definition video has a resolution of 8K.
