Options tips – Today, the Sensex went up 152.81 points or 0.8 per-cent at 26998.62 while the Nifty gains 38.65 pts or 0.5 per-cent at 8168. Around 1385 shares are ahead, 1138 shares went down & 123 shares remains same. Vedanta, Tata Steel, ICICI Bank, Hindalco & Tata Motors are top most gainers in the Sensex. Among the loosers are Coal India, Sun Pharma, Maruti Suzuki, HUL & TCS.

The BSE will auction investment limits for foreign investors to buy government debt securities worth an estimated Rs 5,500 cr. This would contain the increased investment cap declared by markets regulator Sebi earlier current week.

The auction will be co-ordinated on BSE's ebidxchange from 1530 hours to 1730 hrs, after the shut down of stock market hours on Monday , October 12, the exchange told in a notice. The free limit as on today along with the newely debt limits of Rs 5,468 cr would be auctioned on the exchange platform, it contributed. The debt auction quota gives overseas investors the right to spend in the debt up to the limit purchased. A mock bidding period will be co-ordinated today to check the system performance.
