George Robert Minkoff's heroine, Tickle Plenty, is featured in an audiobook series in advance of International Women's Day.

March 8th is International Women's Day, a day that celebrates "the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women." Books are what preserve our culture, and where society can turn to a narrative about women. Today, we are living in a time where female heroines are at the forefront of our stories. For Young Adults (YDs), it is important to introduce them to fearless female leads, in everyday and within fictional work. The Tickle Plenty audiobook series, written by George Robert Minkoff, features a heroine, named Tickle Plenty, who exhibits courage, confidence, intelligence, empathy, and curiosity.

Likened to the fantastical adventures of Alice in Wonderland, Tickle Plenty and her friends gain wisdom and experience from their trips across fascinating lands, learning about new wonders. The series is read by award-winning narrator, Alison Larkin.

Tickle Plenty was inspired by Minkoff's granddaughter, Penelope. He says, "These Tickle Plenty stories were a labor of love for my granddaughter. I wanted to create for her, a magical kingdom, where Tickle Plenty and her friends would learn to work together and solve interesting real world, and magical, problems."

In the first audiobook, Tickle Plenty and the Bubblegum Tree, the charismatic and smart 11-year-old Tickle is joined by her friends: a cautious and enthusiastic talking bird, a generous, attention-seeking
giant, and a protective bear, embarking on a journey to the ice cream volcano, with the support of a beloved mother.

Throughout later audiobooks, Tickle Plenty and the Lollipop Garden and Tickle Plenty and the Kingdom of the Clouds, an older heroine finds herself on a birthday adventure with friends, followed by a visit to the Nothing Happening festival, where the group of friends float away on cotton candy during an unexpected storm, to later discover magical secrets from a wand.
