Master Certified Coach (MCC) certification indicates that the coach has achieved the highest level of coaching skills recognized by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). The certification requires a coach to have at least 2,500 coaching hours of experience, including 200 hours of coaching clients at the PCC (Professional Certified Coach) level. MCC certification is widely recognized in the coaching industry as a symbol of excellence, and increases a coach’s credibility. It’s a relatively rare credential, as there are less than two thousand MCC coaches all over the world. Gaining an MCC will make applicant a part of the masterful community of coaches.

Powerhouse Coaching provides 75-hour course for ICF Level 3 applicants in order to prepare them for a confident submission of their application. The program is provided by ICF Assessor and MCC coach, Jennifer Powers, who has logged more than 3000 coaching hours in her sixteen years of coaching practice. Jennifer is also the author of the bestselling books, viz. “Oh, shift!”, “Oh, shift! for Teens,” and “Good Shift!”. The course is designed to assist experienced coaches in understanding the nuances that distinguish MCC from PCC, develop the coaches’ awareness of self and the shifts required to coach at the Master level, and help coaches to find and bring their unique coach self to the MCC coaching session.

The program gives the PCC coach the required education and mentoring hours needed to apply for MCC credential through ICF. 39 Synchronous Hours

These hours are super-focused on understanding, embodying, and practicing ICF’s eight core competencies. Each session will be of 90 minutes duration, with the exception of four 2-hour Practice Clinics, and include a combination of instructions, facilitated discussions, coaching practice, and feedback. The program also includes the required 7 hours of group mentor coaching, and three one-on-one mentor coaching

36 Asynchronous Hours

These include a combination of coaching, being coached, journaling, and independent reading, plus listening to and reviewing a variety of MCC Level 3 coaching sessions. Students create a community outside of live sessions, and share their findings via the online classroom. They are paired with a buddy with whom they can find support, practice, and discuss outside of class.

The program is spread over 22 weeks

The 75-hour course for ICF Level 3 applicants is completed over a period of 22 weeks. Its Fundamental component is dedicated to fine tooth combing the 8 ICF core competencies, and gives students a clear and confident path toward passing the exam assessment. The components of the course include exploring each component in-depth, peer coaching, self-development, practice beyond the coaching sessions, exploration of additional career opportunities, and more.
