Peter Nygard already has a reputation for being kindhearted and generous with all of his
associates who he’s helped with medical bills. In addition to that, he has shown his appreciation to associates with cold hard cash. Here’s what happened.

It was the morning of Peter Nygard’s company’s 35 th anniversary. He was giving a speech to employees of gratitude and appreciation for their support while on the road from near bankruptcy to the grand success the company had become thirty-five years later. Then he got to the end of his speech. The words that were to come next out of Peter Nygard’s mouth stunned the room: “Oh, by the way, those of you who’ve been with the company twenty years or more will find a little something extra on your bank accounts.”

There were a lot of blank stares and questioning looks among the staff. That changed to disbelief when it was said that those long-serving employees received an extra $10,000 each that payday. The joy was palpable and there wasn’t a dry eye in the room.

Everybody was chatting excitedly and hugging the lucky employees. In show of their gratitude and appreciation for such a generous gift, and to share their joy, the lucky associates treated the rest of the staff to lunch.

The total amount Peter Nygard gave away that day was more than one million dollars. In fact, he said to his staff, “Thanks a million!” Very little work was done that day. The talk was all about Peter Nygard and how it was so wonderful to work for such a generous human being.

At Peter Nygard’s company’s 50 th anniversary celebration he repeated his generosity. Once again, he gave away $10,000 each to long-serving employees.

Who does that? What kind of person does it take to selflessly give of his earnings in such a way? A man known to be the kindest of persons with a most generous nature. That’s Peter Nygard! He ‘shares his toast’ with any and everyone, strangers and friends alike, because that’s who he is. And he does it over and over again.

In this case, not once, but twice Peter Nygard gave away more than a million dollars to show his appreciation to his employees. Everybody wants to work for a boss like Peter Nygard who ceaselessly demonstrates his gratitude to his staff.
