Heritage Foods Offers Conscious Consumers A ‘Total Disclosure’ way of buying high welfare sustainable meat.

In a world of food marketing and huge corporate industrial farms, it is hard for a consumer to find out where their food came from let alone how well it was looked after. There are many customers who would rather not know and chose their meat on price alone, but there are a growing number of ‘conscious consumers’ that really do care about the animals they eat, they want high welfare sustainable meat.

At Heritage foods Caroline helps support a handful of small scale farmers who are passionate about environmental sustainability, their animal’s welfare and producing the most nutritious meat possible. These are among the best farmers in the UK but they only sell a few animals for meat each year.

Stake a steak buyers get the chance to ‘stake’ a portion of these exclusive ‘elite’ animals which include beef cattle, lamb, hogget, mutton, deer, goat and pigs. In return for a ‘stake’, backers not only get luxury hampers of the very finest high welfare sustainable meat but prior to delivery will be provided with every detail of the farm where they are reared, the farmer who reared them and the process from field to fork. This will include video footage, Q & A, audio interviews and images some farmers will even show you around the farm. You will be put in touch with your other ‘stake holders’ with whom you can connect through a forum to share recipes and ideas.

As part of your purchase you will learn about why eating high welfare sustainable meat is so good for the environment, the advantages management system used to produce your meat as well as why your meat is far better for you than other types of meat.

What’s even more amazing is that because of the efficient use of all of the carcass, it works out good value too! But this system is not for those who are just looking for a bargain, this is for foodies who REALLY care about the food they eat.

Many buyers get together family or friends to make the purchase, on the arrival of their hampers they have a celebration, cook a joint and enjoy some wine while they ‘divvy up’ the stake.

Email us now to become a member of the stake a steak buyers group, (It’s free there is no obligation to buy anything, just great information, discussion and offers) you will be e-mailed when an animal becomes available and have the chance to ‘stake’ your high welfare sustainable meat.

New members get free entry into a prize draw for a 1/8 ‘stake’ in a 100% grass fed beef animal so pass on the free offer to anyone you think could be a conscious consumer.

United Kingdom – There's been some debate about food labeling and health issues related to CAFO raised beef. Right now, meats found in grocery stores are labeled 100% grass fed if they came from pasture, however if there's no label, chances are it's most likely been beef from a CAFO or factory farm. People are taking a good look at their health and what they're ingesting these days. Thus, they want foods and meats that don’t introduce chemicals, or other contaminants that have an adverse effect on their health. Heritage Foods is giving these individuals a plausible solution to CAFO meats and other products.

The US Department of Agriculture joined by researchers at Clemson University found that grass fed beef was better for human health in 10 key areas. These determinations resulted from a side-by-side comparison of factory farm beef and grass fed. What this means for health conscious individuals is that Heritage Foods provides meats that are:

Higher in beta-carotene, Vitamin E, Vitamin B, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium and in total Omega 3s. They're also lower in total fat. Furthermore, grass fed beef has a higher ratio (4.84) over the CAFOs beef, which is 1.65, plus a higher vaccenic acid and CLA (both are potential cancer fighting agents). What's more is that grain fed cattle involves the animal's well-being, consequently, affecting one's health.

Caroline Watson, after attending the Prince of Wales Summer School, became interested in sustainable farming. This, along with her background in environmental conservation, the interest in nutrition and love for preparing traditional foods, she was inspired to use Heritage Foods website to educate and inspire individuals to improve their food choices and a new appreciation for grass fed beef and other meats.
