Die zuletzt gemachten Prognosen eines bekannten Analysten legten nahe, dass die Magic Toolbar in den neuen MacBook Pro Modellen mit einem kleinen ARM-basierten SoC gesteuert wird. Das ist wohl daher notwendig, da die Leiste kontextsensitiv je nach gerade geöffneter Anwendung und/oder dem aktuellem Bildschirminhalt andere Steuerelement darstellt. Außerdem ist der ARM-Chip Voraussetzung, um von iOS her bekannte Sicherheitsfeatures im Zusammenhang mit Touch ID (etwa sicheres Speicher von Fingerabdrücken) ohne drastische Änderungen auf den Mac zu bringen. Trotz Apples Fauxpas mit den Bildern in macOS 10.12.1 sind noch diverse Aspekte der neuen MacBook Pro Line-up unklar, darunter die exakte Hardware-Ausstattung im Gehäuseinneren, die Anzahl und Art der externen Anschlüsse, genaue Angaben zu Abmessungen und Gewicht sowie die Beschaffenheit der Tastatur und der Funktionsumfang der OLED-Touchleiste. All das werden uns die Kalifornier hoffentlich in Kürze - am Donnerstag, den 27. Oktober ab 19 Uhr mitteleuropäischer Zeit - verraten. Zusätzlich zu den Premium-Laptops könnten auf dem „Hello Again“ Event außerdem noch weitere neue Macs vorgestellt werden. Einigermaßen glaubwürdige Hinweise deuten etwa auf ein 13 Zoll MacBook / MacBook Air mit USB-C Ports hin. Wir werden morgen Abend natürlich über alle relevanten Ankündigungen berichten. Xiaomi hat neben dem Mi Note 2 heute noch ein weiteres Smartphone präsentiert, das es höchstwahrscheinlich nie nach Europa schaffen wird. Weil es sich aber um ein so interessantes Gerät handelt, lohnt sich ein genauerer Blick dennoch. Das neue Xiaomi Mi Mix ist zum einen zweifellos die bislang ambitionierteste Entwicklung des chinesischen Unternehmens, und zum anderen sehr wahrscheinlich ein erster, sehr konkreter Ausblick auf das Smartphone-Design der nächsten Jahre.
Das was bei Betrachtung des neuen Mi Mix sofort ins Auge sticht, ist natürlich das riesige, nahezu randlose 6,4 Zoll Display. Mit Hilfe modernster Technologien hat es Xiaomi zustande gebracht, ein Smartphone zu bauen, bei dem oben und an den beiden Seiten fast keine Bildschirmeinfassung zu erkennen ist. Einzig unterhalb des Display ist ein relativ schmaler Rahmen vorhanden, der die Frontkamera beheimatet. All das bedeutet, dass das Mi Mix ein Bildschirm-zu-Chassis-Verhältnis von 91,3 Prozent aufweist, oder anders formuliert: Das 6,4 Zoll Display passt in ein Gehäuse, das in etwa die Abmessung des iPhone 7 Plus mit seinem 5,5 Zoll Display aufweist.

Im direkten Vergleich mit dem DTEK50 verfügt das neue DTEK60 über eine deutlich leistungsfähigere Hardware. Das Display misst 5,5 Zoll in der Diagonalen und löst mit 2560x 1440 Pixel auf. Angetrieben wird das Gerät von Qualcomms Snapdragon 820 Prozessor, dem 4 Gigabyte LPDDR4 Arbeitsspeicher und 32 Gigabyte interner Flash-Speicher für Daten und Apps zur Seite stehen. Letzterer kann via microSD-Karten bei Bedarf zusätzlich erweitert werden. Der Akku ist ferst verbaut, bietet eine Kapazität von 3000 mAh und kann über einen USB Typ-C Port geladnen werden.
