The patent for invention number 8,627,020 is for Secure Erase of deleted files on a computer hard drive.

"This latest patent makes claims in connection with our technology that allows for the secure erasure of deleted files on a computer's hard drive", said Ken Burke, President, CMS Products. "It expands the number of CMS patents issued to 13, which adds confirmation to CMS Products leadership in developing technologies in data security, data backup technology and data management," he said.

The patent method assures that deleted files are securely erased and overwritten with multiple overwrite patterns which completely remove the deleted file and render it unrecoverable with current file recovery technology.
