1888PressRelease - Business management experts Karla Brandau and Douglas Ross announce a complimentary webinar to kick off their new 21st Century Leadership coaching and mentoring program starting in January entitled The Leadership of One.

It teaches the core principles of discretionary effort and how the executive team can increase their influence by applying the principles as they lead their employees.

Atlanta, GA - Karla Brandau and Douglas Ross announced today that they are combining more than 50 years of business experience to launch a leadership initiative to help executives tap into discretionary effort and engage a greater proportion of the workforce. To kick off the initiative, they are offering a complimentary webinar for executives who want to learn more about creating a culture of discretionary effort.

Discretionary effort, the added effort that employees give when they go beyond what is required, is key to 21st century leadership success yet many leaders lack the skills and tools to foster this type of culture across an organization. According to Gallup, only 13 percent of employees are engaged at work. This illustrates the significant opportunity for organizations to improve engagement. By increasing engagement and discretionary effort for just 10 percent of employees, an organization can add thousands of dollars to its bottom line.

"Maintaining an engaged workforce is a constant challenge but when discretionary effort is consistently and freely given, employees become the organization's greatest competitive advantage," said Karla Brandau. "In working with clients over the years, we've seen countless companies struggle with motivating, inspiring and engaging employees. With this program, we hope to close the gap between executives and disengaged employees."

The Leadership of One coaching and mentoring program combines over 50 years of business experience from Brandau and Ross to give leaders the inspiration and tools they need to impact the conscious decision employees make every day on whether or not they will give discretionary effort. The program teaches leaders how to:

• Earn the respect of employees
• Keep employees engaged in meaningful work
• Help employees grow professionally and personally
• Minimize the departure of valued employees

The formal coaching and mentoring program begins in January 2016. For more information, visit http://www.discretionaryeffortleadership.com/the-leadership-of-one/.
