It is not enough for PAQOS to just match their clients with the right water treatment equipment; they also believe in teaching them how that equipment functions, as well as the ways in which it might benefit them. They have often been asked by their clientele exactly how their water softener solution for home works and whether it's a smart investment in the long run. Knowing this information will not only provide you with insight into water treatment, but will also keep you on your toes when less-than-reputable vendors come along peddling seemingly magical water treatment goods that have no base in science.

The Process of Ion Exchange Water Softening

Ion exchange water softening is the most widely used softening technique in the water treatment industry for eliminating dissolved hardness minerals due to its efficacy, cost and reliability. A water-tight tank is filled with a particular quantity of small, sand-coloured ion-exchange resin beads for ion-exchange softening. Because the dissolved minerals in the water have the opposite electrical charge as the resin beads, when hard water passes across the surface of the beads, the dissolved mineral ions are attracted to the surface of the beads, exchanging places with sodium or potassium ions that were previously on the surface.

The hardness ions can only cling to the resin beads for so long until they run out of room. Thus, regeneration is used to restart the process and allow the resin to continue softening the water. Simply put, regeneration involves saturating the tank containing the resin beads with brine containing water and either sodium or potassium ions. This brine permits the sodium or potassium ions on the resin's surface to swap places with the hardness ions. The brine is then evacuated from the tank, and hard water is introduced again, allowing the resin to continue softening. Ion exchange works on this basic basis.

What Makes Soft Water an Excellent Investment?

Soft water is one of the greatest upfront investments a homeowner can make to save money in the long run. Just like the old saying goes, "you have to spend money to make money," investing in a good water softener today will save you a lot of money in the long run by avoiding the high and low costs of hard water.

• Helps to protect Your Pipes
• Guards Your Appliances
• You are already paying for soft water if you use detergent.
The Next Step Is Yours!

Many people are unwilling to share good advice with someone else for fear of diluting their own benefit, so finding a smart investment can be tough. PAQOS, on the other hand, makes it a point to instruct potential customers on what they are losing out on by not installing a water softener and stainless steel insulated water tank to safeguard the investment you have made in your home, as well as how to save money in the long run. They have completed their task. And if you are already reading this, you are only a few steps away from reaping the multiple rewards of soft water investment.
