In India, the people still don't have a clear idea about What is Organ Donation? People have a prejudiced assumption about organ donation that whenever and however a person die, their organs can be donated. That is actually not true. Organ donation is the process of Retrieving or Procuring an organ from a living or deceased person, known as a Donor. Moreover, the process of recovering organs is called Harvesting. In the future, the harvested organ is transplanted into the Recipient, who is in need of that organ.

Basically, there are two types of organ donation i.e., Live Donation and Deceased or Cadaver Organ Donation. A live donation is a process in which a healthy and living person can donate their organs. It is done in the case of a liver or a kidney. A person can live a normal life even after donating a part of their liver or one kidney. But in Deceased organ donation or cadaver donation, the organ donation is taken from a person who has been declared dead by a team of authorized doctors at a hospital. A person is said to be dead when there is an irreversible loss of consciousness, absence of brain stem reflexes and no spontaneous respiration. With this type of donation, you Pledge Your Organs, to save someone's life.

Today's, the medical science has been developed on a vast scale. Through organ transplant, the doctor can remove the non-functioning organ of the patient's body, and plant a healthy and functional organ in its place. But, for this process, it is necessary that the hospital has organs to transplant. Through organ donation, you can make it possible. A person can donate their Liver, Heart, Kidney, Lungs, Pancreas, Intestine, Cornea, Bones, Tissue, Blood Stem Cells, Blood and Platelets Tissues, Skin and Veins, and can make someone live this beautiful life again. Considering the requirements of donated organs in the region, many of the hospitals have become a part of ORGAN India, and performing various successful organ transplant surgeries.

ORGAN India understands the problem of the people of India who don’t have the option of leaving their jobs and lives, and moving to another city in search of an organ transplant.
