One of the highlights of the event is an on-the-spot posture and spine alignment assessment, as conducted by physical therapy specialists from NY Theraspine. Attendees also had their body mass index, body fat, visceral fat, and muscle mass calculated without extra costs.
Aside from these, employees enjoyed a selection of vegan snacks from Kyasuran Vegan Delish. Some of their products are chips made from squash, carrots, bittermelon, horseradish, onions, and garlic and concentrated juice made from a mix of horseradish and custard apple. Meanwhile, representatives from GlaxoSmithKline held a cervical cancer awareness campaign through one-on-one brief lectures. They also distributed informational materials to Open Access BPO’s employees during the event.
White Flower and SeriAsia Wellness and Spa, manufacturer of massage oils and organic health products, also showcased their items while offering free massage and ear candling services. Lastly, Macropharma and Prosel Pharma distributed food supplements among attendees.
According to Theresa Borillo, Open Access BPO’s office nurse, these types of activities aim to raise awareness about diseases and how they can be prevented.
“Wellness programs can help employees attain and maintain a healthier lifestyle. Employees [must be] engaged in activities that can boost their morale in performing daily job responsibilities and still have more energy to give to their family and friends after their workday is complete,” she remarked.
Just recently, Open Access BPO employees also participated in Yoga in the Park, a series of free yoga sessions organized by Urban Ashram Manila, a yoga studio in Makati. The event ran through all Wednesdays of February at Ayala Triangle Park and aimed to encourage beginners to regularly practice yoga.
This March, the multilingual call center will participate in a blood donation program organized by Philippine Red Cross. An awareness campaign about dengue vaccine will also be held.
