Omoco, a network provider company, announced its readiness to enter Indonesian market. “At Omoco, we realize geographical contraints Indonesians undergo in remote areas to access reliable information and communication technology infrastructures,” said Karun Kapil, Director of Business Development, SEA & Oceania, Omoco. For Indonesian market, Omoco plans to build cloud-based personal network, connecting isolated islands. Omoco will provide communication network via a box, offering GSM/EDGE connectivity. The box supports plug-and-play system, allowing users to adjust connectivity easily. In addition, Omoco employs low-frequency GSM radiowaves, in contrast to higher-frequency WiFi which cannot penetrate some objects. Karun expects that the technological solutions offered by Omoco can help Indonesian to get equal access to information and communication infrastructures.
