[BRIDGEWATER, 2/28/2018] — A recent study from Google emphasized the importance of having a mobile-friendly website. Radview noted that the study revealed that over 50 percent of mobile users would leave a web page if the loading time takes more than three seconds. Moreover, researchers discovered that a majority of mobile sites do not satisfy user expectations when it comes to page load speed.
Ads Part of the Load Speed Problem
Google analyzed more than 10,000 mobile web domains to determine if the sites meet the high expectations of mobile users. Researchers discovered that the average load time for mobile websites in a 3G connection is 19 seconds. Google added that sites with a slow load time contribute to a negative user experience.
When it comes to cause of the slow loading speed, part of the problem lies with mobile ads. According to research by the Media Ratings Council, mobile ads take twice as long to load as desktop ads. Slow-loading ads are a problem for website users, as visitors will likely skip past them and may even encourage them to use an ad-blocking software.
Load Testing Mobile Websites with WebLOAD
Organizations looking to conduct load testing on their mobile websites to figure out the load speed and identify possible performance bottlenecks can use Radview’s WebLOAD, a website performance testing solution. WebLOADoffers several ways for businesses to load test their site. The tool allows them to produce mobile test scripts by:
• Recording a desktop script and adjusting the configuration to simulate a mobile browser
• Recording browser-based apps or native mobile apps directly from the mobile handset
Radview says that WebLOAD’s mobile load testing feature enables users to test the user experience using different mobile networks and devices as well as obtain immediate insights into performance problems.
