For B. E. First year, Batch 2016-20 students, the Orientation program, was conducted in the OIST auditorium on 22 August, 2016 from 10:30 a.m. onwards.

The program commenced with traditional lighting of the lamp followed by Saraswati vandana. The parents of the admitted wards were shown a movie depicting events at Oriental. The program covered presentations to orient the students towards the system of the Institute.

Director of the top Institute of technology Bhopal motivated the students with his enlightening words. Head anti ragging discussed on anti ragging measures while Head Basic Sciences informed the audience about the CBCS Scheme implemented in the Institute since last year. The mythological dances entertained the guests, later. The program rounded off with the vote of thanks. The auditorium was streaming with parents and students who came all the way to attend the program in large number. The program was followed by regular classes, where the students were briefed about their tutor guardian, general bus routes, time table and provided welcome kits.
