OIST Bhopal greeted the BE Freshers of 2016-20 batch on 30 September,2016, through a grand event. The program witnessed a Fresher competition where the shortlisted participants were subjected to a question round for judgment of Mr. and Ms Fresher 2016.A movie showcasing the students’ life at Oriental was shown to the audience.
In the second half, seven dance performances of various Branches, based on mythological theme, were interspersed with filler performances of songs and monologue.

The award function followed later wherein Mr. Fresher title went to Mr Avneesh Jha of Mechanical branch and the Ms. Fresher title was grabbed by Ms Sakshi Tiwari of Civil Engineering Branch. The winner and runner Group dance trophies were notched by Civil Engineering and Electronics and Communication branches, respectively.

The students of Third Semester were awarded for their excellent performance in RGPV Exams and for their highest attendance in the First year.

The guests of the occasion were CPRI Addl. Ditectors, Dr J Santosh and Dr MK Wadhwani. They appreciated the efforts put in by the students, to make the program a momentous one.

The event witnessed the presence of Chairman OGI, Director OIST, Heads and faculty members of various departments of OIST, along with the students of First semester.

The Freshers’ welcome celebrated every year at OIST, aims to foster goodwill and cooperation among the senior and junior students of Engineering.
