Root intrusion in sewer pipes was effectively repaired by NuFlow

Root intrusion can affect any home or business when you have trees nearby. The roots work their way into the sewer line system, causing backups. The hair-like tendrils catch waste, including solids and toilet paper, making it difficult for the sewage to flow into the main sewer line. This backs up the clean-outs in the home, office, garage or basement. Sewer lines are attractive to roots, offering oxygen, water and nutrients, therefore tree roots tend to be attracted to the sewer system. Once they find an opening, they continue to grow inside the sewer system.

It's not uncommon to find tree roots in terra cotta pipes. Most terra cotta pipes are old, installed years ago and installed in sections. The sections are joints in the pipe and an easy access point for roots. All pipe materials can become prone to root intrusion at some point, based on their age and the installation. Root intrusion signs are relatively easy to identify with sewer blockages, slow-flowing drains and gurgling sounds coming from the sink or toilet.

NuFlow is a leader in the repair of root intrusion in homes and businesses. The team comprises Certified Contractors who conduct thorough camera inspections and then clean the pipe using a proven process with expert tools. Using their patented product, called NuDrain, they saturate a felt liner with their product and pull it into place, using existing access holes. The internal bladder is then inflated, pushing the epoxy against the interior wall of the existing pipe to form a strong, durable and long-lasting barrier.

NuDrain can be used in sewer, storm and roof drains. It works on most major drainage pipe materials, inside and outside of the building. It is installed in pipelines that are smaller than two inches to those bigger than twelve inches. It is carried out with minimal disruption to the home or business. There is no need to dig deep trenches and cause damage to buildings and landscaping.

“Our NuFlow Certified Contractors used a proven process when it comes to root intrusion in sewer lines. They inspect the blocked pipes with a camera to identify the problem areas before they clean them out. Cleaning is done using several different techniques,” said Tom Bowman, the President at NuFlow. “They then insert the saturated liner that is pulled in place inside the existing pipe and inflated, pushing the epoxy against the inside wall of the existing pipe. This is allowed to dry and cure before the bladder is deflated and removed, leaving the client with a clean and seamless pipe that will last for years.”
