Georgia’s Krav Pro Training Center, one of the leading authorities on self-defense techniques and training, announces their upcoming “Colors Of Krav”, a community outreach to be held at their Duluth GA location on Saturday, May 18. The event will be held from 11AM until 1:30PM and is free to the public.

According to Krav Pro owner and chief instructor Richard Swords, the event is designed to allow attendees to learn the basic techniques of Krav Maga, a method of self-defense developed in Israel and widely used by the Israeli military. It is a non-competitive form of martial arts that incorporates different techniques such as grappling, wrestling, and boxing, along with elements of Wing Chun and judo. Mr. Swords is a black belt in this discipline with more than 25 years of experience, and 1 of only 6 certified Krav Maga instructors in the United States.

“The need to learn proper techniques related to self-defense is far more important today than ever before simply because of the increase in criminal activity” says Mr. Swords. “Krav Maga is one of the most effective and best alternatives to consider for those willing to learn the keys related to self-defense, to be able to protect yourself from an attack. The technique is complete in itself and takes cues from some of the best fighting arts across the globe.”

The art of Krav Maga is basically a survival system that is designed around personal safety, as opposed to more competitive martial arts such as karate or tae kwon do. It is a modern street fighting approach to be used against both armed and unarmed attackers, and it makes use of a wide range of techniques including kicks, punches, chokes, headlocks, and grabs. It also teaches defense against attackers who may be wielding firearms, edged or blunt weapons.

Colors Of Krav is designed to be a first step in learning a method of real world self-defense designed to help people protect themselves and their loved ones. There will also be free food and refreshments available at the event.
