PCCTI is a certified institute that gives vocational training in Practical Nursing (LPN), Anatomy and Physiology, and Certified Nurse Aide (CNA). It was founded in the year 1997 in the State of Illinois with the aim to offer quality education to students who want to grow their career as professional and certified nurses and physicians.

In 1999, the school received approval from the Illinois State Board of Education to provide a formal educational program. In the next year, the school associated itself with major contributors of Information Technology such as Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, Checkpoint, and Sun Micro systems to provide theory and practical training in their specialized areas of study. PCCTI also joined hands with CompTIA and became a provider of vendor-neutral broad-based certification exams that were especially designed to authenticate an individual's IT skill set.

With the emerging demand in the health care industry, the school recognized its importance and refocused its mission to include health care education as well as Information Technology in 2002. Since then, a variety of health care courses have been introduced such as Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy Technician, Cardiology Technician, Medical Billing and Coding and Pharmacy Technician.

In 2007, the school received approval from Practical Nursing Program from Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. PCCTI Healthcare is approved by the Division of Private Business and Vocational Schools of the Illinois Board of Higher Education.
