Born in Kolkata, Suhel Seth comes from a wealthy family. He completed his schooling at La Martiniere Calcutta and studied at St Joseph's College, Nainital. At Jadavpur University.

 
Born in Kolkata, Suhel Seth comes from a wealthy family. He completed his schooling at La Martiniere Calcutta and studied at St Joseph's College, Nainital. At Jadavpur University, he pursued Bachelor of Arts (English Honors) and Master of Arts (International Relations) degrees. After completing his degrees, he went to Harvard Business School and joined an Advanced Management Program (AMP). He was a member of the Harvard Business School Consultants Club as well.

He always had a flair for writing and has published four books so far. The first book he wrote is ‘In Your Face’. This book contains many columns and interviews of Seth that were published in various national magazines. Consecutively, he authored and co-authored many other books. ‘Kalighat to Calcutta’ is an amazing book that he co-authored with Khushwant Singh and R. K. Laxman. He also wrote a book about the NSEL case - ‘The Target’ along with Sahantanu Guha Ray. Published in 2011 ‘Get to the Top’ is a bestseller that shares the secrets to success.

Suhel Seth is also a renowned actor. He has participated in several English plays since his childhood. However, he has made his debut in Bollywood as well and worked in a few great movies. His first movie was ‘Rog’, where he acted upon his friend’s request. After that, he featured in many big movies. In ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’, he played the role of the father of a female lead. He was in ‘Guzaarish’ also. Additionally, he played a role in the movie ‘Calendar Girls’. His role was influenced by the lifestyle of the former liquor baron Vijay Mallya. However, before acting in these movies, he acted in a movie called 'Ek Din Achanak' in 1989. He is a part of the global Boards of companies like Cavendish, Intelligence Squared, and RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, London).

Besides focusing on his career, Suhel has been an active philanthropist as well. He helps out many non-profit organisations. Under Seth’s supervision, an NGO helps out people who require medicines and free health check-ups. Seth is a part of the board of the Max Foundation as well and aims in providing better cancer treatment. He has made a substantial amount of 50 lakhs donation to the Partition Museum in 2017. It has a gallery dedicated to Seth’s parents. Seth also understands the importance of mental health and sits on the Indian Head Injury Foundation’s (IHIF) advisory board. This organisation is focused on creating more brain trauma care systems all across the country.
