Amber Goldhammer’s artwork is now a mainstay inside The STRAT, an iconic hotel which is currently in the midst of an exciting $140 million transformation.

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA— Exciting changes are taking place at the world-famous STRAT, a 1,149-foot tower, hotel and casino, which has been a fixture along the Vegas strip for years.

As part of a renovation project that began in 2018 and includes major upgrades, The STRAT (formerly the Stratosphere) is completely revamping its sports book, observation deck, restaurants, rooms and more, to enhance its visitor experience.

Los Angeles based abstract and graffiti artist, Amber Goldhammer is honored to be a part of it all. Known for her graffiti-style creations, her artwork is now a permanent installation on the entire 109th floor of the hotel.

“Wow, I am so excited!” Goldhammer explained. “To have the opportunity to have my work featured in such a popular hotel so that visitors from all over the world can see it is a real privilege.”

Floor 109 is an entire circular floor of Goldhammer’s custom artworks made specifically for The STRAT. As guests enter, her vibrant, graffiti-style art wall coverings will seem to embrace them as they take in the bold 3D, textural messages contained throughout the spacious floor. Guests staying at the hotel will encounter her artwork after returning from a day of fun on the hotel’s thrill rides and attractions located at the very top of the tower.

“When guests exit the rides, they will land on the 109th floor, which gives them an opportunity to view my artwork and take in the messages which were specifically created for The STRAT,” Goldhammer said.

Kevin Barry Fine Art and The STRAT team reached out to Goldhammer to be a featured artist in this redesign. Goldhammer, however, is the only artist to have taken over an entire floor of the hotel.

“They loved my signature style writing and graffiti works and asked me to create the art around their new hashtags which included ‘StratRising’ and ‘WelcomeToTheTop,’” Goldhammer said.

“When you look at a skyline of Las Vegas, you always see The STRAT,” said John Barry, principal for Kevin Barry Fine Art. “Working on its redesign was an exciting challenge for the KBFA team. The STRAT has always been a popular destination for Vegas visitors and with this redesign, it’s a must see.”

Best known for creating vibrant, abstract paintings with a street art edginess, Goldhammer’s artwork at The STRAT is inspired by her latest ‘I Love You’ series which are filled with eye-catching messages of positivity.

According to the talented visual artist, the collection is meant to offer people hope and a feeling of love.

“When people see my art The STRAT, I hope they smile, and it puts them in happy spirits and a fun mood,” Goldhammer said. “I also hope it inspires them to post on social channels about their experience as that is what the art signifies.”

This is not the first time for Goldhammer’s artwork to be featured inside a major hotel. Her artwork is also a permanent staple and part of the decor at Kimpton Hotel Wilshire in Los Angeles and Kimpton Epic Hotel in Miami.
