Plano, TX, June 22, 2015 – The Nicholson Clinic for Weight Loss Surgery is pleased to announce that two of its surgeons have been honored by Texas Monthly magazine. Doctors Chad Carlton and Thomas Roshek have been named 2015 Texas Rising Stars and will be honored in the magazine’s July edition.

Super Doctors are chosen as a result of an exhaustive selection process conducted each year by MSP Communications and its independent research team. The process begins with the nomination of candidates, as physicians are invited to recommend professional peers who are known to have a reputation for excellence in their chosen field. Candidates are also chosen through independent research conducted to find those physicians who have been honored in their field or have reached a notable level of achievement.

Once identified, candidates are vetted to assess qualifications, experience, professional achievement, board certifications, leadership positions, and more. Dr. Carlton is a Texas native who received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He is a fellowship trained laparoscopic and bariatric surgeon who was also recognized by Texas Monthly as a Rising Star in 2014.

Dr. Roshek is a board certified general surgeon and is fellowship trained in advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgical procedures. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Roshek graduated from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and was also previously recognized as a 2014 Rising Star.
