History of formation
During the Second World War period, a new shell manufacturing plant was established named ‘Defense Industries Limited’. This plant was founded by the company to make defense stronger by supplying various types of powerful weapons. The town Ajax has grown up around that plant. The royal navy ship “HMS Ajax” is also the main reason of its formation. The city is named as an honor of this ship. The ship has served during World War-II. The company was shot down in the year 1945 and the town still remains. Today, the population of Ajax has reached the number of 90000.

Ajax in older period was under-developed because there were no or less job opportunities due to less interest of industrialists. But today, Ajax has changed immensely. During that period, the residential opportunities have been increased along with retail and commercial markets.
