FSSAI License in India
FSSAI License in India- If you are planning to start a retail food business, then it is necessary to have a license from FSSAI (Food Safety and Standard Authority of India). It provides a license for the safety and standardization of food products that are manufactured and sold in the country. Without the license, neither the wholesaler nor the retailer can store the products.

When you plan to start food retailing in India, the most relevant license is the Food Safety and Standard Authority of India’s (FSSAI), Ministry of Family Health and Welfare, Government of India. FSSAI actually provides licenses for the safety and standardization of food products made and sold in India. No legal wholesaler or seller, however, would stock your goods without one.
Below is a list of programs that will achieve the service quality, qualifications, reporting processes and benefits. Our experienced team members are there to direct you and make the process easy to complete.
What is the FSSAI License?

The Federation works to set scientific standards for foodstuffs in order to organize their manufacture, storage, distribution, sale, and import. In fact, getting an FSSAI license is mandatory for any startup or company that has a plan to enter the food retail business. That is, of course, besides the other licenses that you will need.
This is an initiative by the Government of India to ensure that food produced, distributed, or imported complies with the standards set by the Food Authority and thus avoids problems such as adultery and the low quality of food.
The FSSAI license is divided into three categories:
1. FSSAI license for single country companies with an annual turnover of fewer than 12 rupees lakh.
2. FSSAI license for hotels, restaurants, and medium-sized foodstuff manufacturers in one country with an annual turnover of Rs 12 lakh to Rs 20 crore.
3. FSSAI central licensing of companies with business volume in excess of Rs 20 crore.
Unless you decide to open ports in more than one state, you will need individual units with the FSSAI Central Registered Office License and State Licenses. In addition, if you have warehouses in different states, you’ll need to get a separate license for each facility.

Also, check FSSAI eligibility, types, and benefits.
Who will need FSSAI registration?
Any establishments involved in the manufacture, purchase, import, packaging, storage, and distribution of foodstuffs will need to obtain this license. Once registered online, the business is provided with a 14-digit registration number. In fact, any food packages distributed or manufactured must bear the registration number.

Fill out the application
Fill out the application form (Form B) mentioned in Food Safety and Standards (Food Companies Licensing and Registration), 2011 Regulations.

Thus, you will have to submit the remaining information within 30 days of the suggestion. If you fail to do the same, your application for a license will be rejected.

Order number
Once the completed application is submitted, the application ID number will be provided with additional information (if requested) from the authority. In addition, this identifier number should be used as a reference and for all possible correspondence. So you can expect the license to grant such an application ID number within 60 days of granting it.

Inspection report
After issuing the application ID number, the licensing authority may direct an employee to examine the buildings in which your business will be opened.

Indeed, this is done in the manner prescribed by the Food Safety and Standard Regulations of India. In order to ensure general health and hygiene conditions, the inspection officer may issue you a notice directing you to the necessary steps you must take or to make changes at your workplaces.
You will, therefore, need to implement the necessary steps, changes or modifications and intimate the licensing authority on this matter within 30 days or within the time permitted.

License approval
Within 30 days of receiving the inspection report, except for the time it took to comply with the observations contained in the inspection report, the relevant licensing authority must consider the application and may either grant a license or reject the request. However, before your license application is rejected, you will be given an opportunity to hear from you, and if the authority decides to reject your application, the reasons for rejection will be recorded in writing.

View the license
The licensing authority will issue you the license in Coordination C under Table 2 of the Regulations. A real copy of it will have to display in a prominent place at all times within your workplace.

Also, remember that you must display the license issued by the authority in a prominent place at your workplace. Thus, this should be the original copy of the license.
