What is FSSAI?
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is under the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Government of India. What is the central license of FSSAI?
Central FSSAI license is issued by the central government for food companies operating in all states within India. Who can apply?
Central FSSAI licensing can be applied by food business operators who manufacture royal food, catering services at seaports, and airports, which owns 100% export-oriented units. Ultimately, catering services in Cochin Ports, Mumbai, Chennai, Kandla, Tuteshuren, Visakhapatnam, Kolkata, Marmagoa, JNPT, and/or airport located in Calcutta, Trichy, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Amritsar, Trivandrum, and Ahmedabad can apply To obtain a central FSSAI license.
Note: Proprietary foods include those foods not standardized in food safety regulations and standards (standards for food products and food additives) and food safety regulations and standards (nutritional supplements, nutrition, foods for special food use, foods for special medical purposes, functional foods, and new food items).
Also, units that have places in central government agencies and units of central government agencies such as defense, etc. can apply for a central license. Moreover, faith-based organizations that are major manufacturers, importers, and exporters dealing in a large-scale food trade need to obtain registration in the Audit Bureau from the central government.
Documents required for FSSAI central licensing:
1. Form-B completed and signed by the owner, partner, or accredited signatory.
2. A scheme of the treatment unit showing the dimensions and allocation of the area in terms of operation (mandatory for manufacturing and treatment units only).
3. List of managers/partner/owner/community executives/trust with full address and contact details (mandatory for companies only).
4. Name and list of machinery and equipment along with the number or amount, installed capacity and horsepower used (only required for manufacturing and processing units).
5. A copy of the identity and proof of address issued by the government to the owner/partner/manager (s) / accredited signatory (optional).
6. Food category menu. (For manufactures only).
7. The authority’s letter bearing the name and address of a responsible person nominated by the manufacturer, as well as an alternate responsible person clarifying the authorities empowered to assist officers in inspecting, collecting, packing and sending. (Manufacturers and processors).
8. Report of analysis (chemical and bacteriological) of water for use as an ingredient in food from a recognized public health laboratory / to confirm susceptibility. (Mandatory for manufacturing and processing units).
9. Proof of possession of places such as the lease. (my choice).
10. Partnership deed or ownership declaration or the Ministry of Agriculture and AOA along with the foundation certificate and list of managers with the title. (Three pages should be loaded if it is a company: first page – foundation certificate, second page – authorization of food business activity and third page – list of managers with addresses).

11. A copy of the certificate obtained under the Cooperatives Act – 1861 / The Multi-State Cooperative Act – 2002 in the case of cooperatives. (If any).
12. NOC (No Objection Certificate) and a copy of the manufacturer’s license (mandatory for repositioning and Repackers).
13. Food safety management system plan or certification (if any).
14. The source of milk or milk purchase plan, including the locations of milk collection centers in the case of milk processing units and products. (If any).
15. Source of raw materials for meat and meat processing factories. (If any).
16. Reporting pesticide residues from water in the event that the units manufacture bottled drinking water and/or bottled mineral water and/or carbonated water from an accredited laboratory / public health laboratory.
17. Summons plan (if necessary).
18. NOC from the municipality or local authority (optional).
19. Ministry of Commerce certificate for 100% EOU (export-oriented units)
20. Support documentary proof of turnover.
21. Non-Techno / Palestinian Authority documents issued by the FSSAI.
22. IE (Import and Export) Code Document issued by the General Directorate of Foreign Trade
23. Ninth FSSAI Form: Company nominated by a company along with a board decision.
24. Certificate submitted by the Ministry of Tourism. (Mandatory for hotels).
25. Documentary proof of business number or self-declaration of the number of vehicles (mandatory for transportation).
26. Advertising form.
Action:
• First, the food business operator must fill out Application Form B with the required documents and fees.
• Therefore, a unique application reference number will be provided.
• Be sure to provide the necessary additional information if the application appears incomplete.
Thus, the office may start operating after 60 days if the authorities do not provide such responses.
Consequently, a unique application ID will be provided.
• Moreover, the buildings will be inspected after receiving the request of the food business operator
Thus, the authorities will issue an inspection report.
• If the inspection is not done, then FBO may start a business after 60 days.
Usually, you will get a license if the procedures are successfully completed within 60 days of the period.
• If the inspection report is not processed, then the FBO may start a business after 60 days.
• Therefore, check if the authorities provide you with an improvement notice, a notice of suspension, or a notice of cancellation. If you get any of the notifications, then you must process a new application after 90 days.
