What Is the Significance of National Friendship Day?

Posted November 9, 2023 by nationalfriendday

National Friendship Day is a heartfelt celebration of the bonds of friendship. It serves as a reminder of the profound significance of friends in our lives.

The history of National Friendship Day dates back to the early 20th century. The idea was initially proposed by Joyce Hall, the founder of Hallmark cards, who sought to create a special day for friends to exchange cards and tokens of appreciation. Over time, various dates were suggested, but it was in 2011 that the United Nations officially recognized July 30th as International Day of Friendship, a date that many countries, including the United States, observe as National Friendship Day.
