UK Media Firm Wins Video Tender from World's Largest Artificial Turf Producer

Whereas Beijing and Shanghai have become movie meccas of late, it remains a different story in China's second and third tier cities. Yet, Scottish firm SinoConnexion has since 2010 been successfully carving a niche in the eastern city of Nanjing.

Fundamental differences exists in the way that video messages are interpreted by a Chinese audience versus those in European or American markets. For this very reason, the world's largest producer of artificial turf CCGrass, decided to include a foreign firm in its roster of potential suppliers for a new marketing video.

Through a tender process, SinoConnexion beat out two other local Nanjing firms to finally win the contract. CCGrass placed great emphasis on seeking out a video producer who could create materials that would withstand the media savvy audience of places such as the UK. As producer of the artificial turf utilized by the 2012 UEFA Champions League winners Chelsea FC, Britain has become a major market for CCGrass. In their tough remit to the tender applicants, CCgrass wanted to make extensive use of interview footage from both staff and customers that give credibility to the artificial turf producer.

"CCGrass have so far been a phenomenal company to work with. They are fanatical, but in a good way, about making sure they get what they want", said SinoConnexion Production Director Frank Hossack, a four time New York Festival award winner who has been living and working in China since 1993.

SinoConnexion has seen its international style of video production become a hit with many Chinese and foreign entities operating in Nanjing and all across China since it rolled out the service in 2010. The company has produced numerous video works for the education industry, with clients such as the EtonHouse International Education Group and the British School of Nanjing, as well as for a number of prominent annual exhibitions, including the Asia Outdoor Trade Show, the Nanjing International Auto Expo and the Nanjing Travel Fair.
