A new jobs board site dedicated specifically to remote jobs in the United States has launched as the appetite for remote work surges despite companies attempting to force employees to return to physical offices.

Remote Worker has been operating successfully in the United Kingdom for the past year and decided to launch a sister site for the United States given the enormous amount of inquiries from Americans likewise looking to land their dream remote job.

Remote Worker CEO Joseph Boll has been a staunch supporter of remote work, long vouching for the benefits to be reaped by employees and employers alike.

Despite debate about the issue, Boll has maintained that “remote work is here to stay”.

“We’re so thrilled to launch Remote Worker (USA),” said Boll.

“Like in the UK, US workers are keen to either start working remotely or continue doing so, realizing that they can have better work-life balance along with a host of other benefits.

“We want to help connect job seekers with the best possible remote opportunities for them, and at the same time help hiring managers and businesses stay ahead of the competition by accessing a wider talent pool and seeing the best candidates for their roles.

“We’re eager to get started!”

Remote Worker launches as the third edition of McKinsey & Company’s American Opportunity Survey indicated that Americans have a strong appetite for remote work, with 87 percent stating that they would opt to work completely remotely if given the opportunity to do so.

This is despite the fact that companies in the United States have begun forcing employees to either return to physical offices or find new jobs.

But in spring 2022, McKinsey & Company, working in tandem with market research firm Ipsos, surveyed 25,000 Americans and found that “when people have the chance to work flexibly, 87 percent of them take it”.

“This dynamic is widespread across demographics, occupations and geographies,” McKinsey noted.

“The flexible working world was born of a frenzied reaction to a sudden crisis, but has remained as a desirable job feature for millions.

“This represents a tectonic shift in where, when and how Americans want to work and are working.”

Despite the incredible desire for remote work in the US labour market, McKinsey’s survey found that only 58 percent of workers actually have the opportunity to work remotely event a fraction of the time.

In comparison, just 35 percent of respondents said they had the option to work from home five days a week.

Given that 87 percent indicated a desire to work remotely, McKinsey’s findings indicate a gap that US employers could take advantage of to beat out their competition in attracting and retaining top talent.

By leveraging the strong desire for remote work, employers can use this opportunity to stand out and get ahead. Further, by utilizing online talent acquisition services like Remote Worker, employers can directly put themselves at the forefront of a targeted labour force of remote workers, ensuring they are getting the best candidates possible.
