On Saturday March 1st, the L. Ron Hubbard East Coast Golden Age Theatre performed a dramatic reading of River Driver at the Scientology Information Center. A full-house enjoyed this old-time, Golden Age Radio Theatre-style enactment of one of the 153 fiction stories written by L. Ron Hubbard. The Scientology Information Center is located in the historic Clearwater Building at 500 Cleveland Street in downtown Clearwater.



“This was a wonderful, exciting experience that brought a long-gone era right in front of my eyes and stimulated my imagination,” said one of the guests. “There was a lot of action too – the logging, sawing and boxing – which kept me fully engaged in the story,” he further said.



“The stories are thrilling, and an interesting fact is that the sales of the stories Mr. Hubbard wrote for pulp fiction magazines are what funded his research into the mind and life – culminating in what would become Dianetics and Scientology,” said Joanie Sigal, the Theatre’s Director.



“There are a lot of facets to the life of Mr. Hubbard,” said Pat Harney, the manager of the Center. “We welcome the curious to come to the center and find out more about this modern-day Renaissance man.”
