Animal Friends of the Valleys announces Wines for Canines & Kitties on September 28th

TEMECULA, CA—Plenty of top-secret surprises are in store at Animal Friends of the Valleys’ annual Wines
for Canines & Kitties: “Fur Your Eyes Only” fundraising gala September 28, from 6:30-10:00 pm, at Wilson
Creek Winery in Temecula. NBC Inland Empire Bureau Chief Tony Shin will emcee this year’s Secret Agent
themed event which promises an evening of espionage and philanthropy for all in attendance. Tickets are
$125 per Secret Agent or $1,000 for a Table to 10 which includes dinner, dessert and music under the
moonlight; wine and a signature event champagne cocktail; dogs on the catwalk; stealth photo ops and
much more. Visit www.winesforcanines.com for details.

Approximately 300 Spies and Femme Fatales from throughout Southwest Riverside County are expected
to infiltrate the spy gala, assume their secret identity and complete a passport of assignments to complete
their mission: raising funding for the lost, homeless and abandoned animals in our communities.

“This is always such a memorable event,” explained Beth Soltysiak, Director of Development for Animal
Friends of the Valleys, “but this year we’re really pulling out all the stops. There’s some fun, spy-themed
interactive stations where guests can really get involved in the action. And we have some unique, one-of
a-kind experiences available for bid in our live auction. More than anything, it’s all for a good cause. This
is the shelter’s major fundraiser for the year and all the money raised helps to support the thousands of
animals that come through our doors every year.”

Master of Ceremonies for the event, Tony Shin, currently serves as the Inland Empire Bureau Chief for
NBC4, covering stories originating from Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. Shin has been honored
with nine Emmy awards for breaking news, investigative reporting, general assignment reporting, on
camera talent and team coverage. He also has received 10 Golden Mike awards, including one for writing.
Shin feels strongly about giving back to the community and volunteers his time emceeing events like
Animal Friends of the Valleys “Wines for Canines & Kittie: Fur Your Eyes Only” and NBC4’s annual “Clear
the Shelters” adoption drive.

As a non-profit organization, Animal Friends of the Valleys depends on the support of community
stakeholders to fund their mission: ending pet overpopulation and finding furever loving homes for all
adoptable pets in their care. This year’s Wines for Canines & Kitties sponsors include VCA Animal Hospital,
Abbott, Renuance, Corner Bakery, Denny’s, Corner Bakery, Khashan Law Firm and Ruff & Ready Moving.

All proceeds from Wines for Canines & Kitties: Fur Your Eyes Only support Animal Friends of the Valleys—
the sole animal shelter serving the cities of Temecula, Murrieta, Lake Elsinore, Wildomar, Menifee and
Canyon Lake, as well as rural areas. During the past year, AFV opened their doors to approximately 13,835
animals, in addition to 175 companion pets from families evacuated during the Holy Fire. Animal Friends
of the Valleys is dedicated to promoting the humane care of animals through education and a pro-active
animal services program.
